Seattle
Seattle, Washington
In 2020, I picked up my life in Chicago and moved to the other side of the country. I was ready for change but unprepared to move to a new city on the brink of a global pandemic. It has been difficult to make my home here. But the beauty of the Pacific Northwest makes it easy to love.
Nestled in the neighborhoods of South Seattle, you will find a zen sanctuary. On a fall morning, mist rises from the ponds and moss as the early light rises over the Kubota Gardens. The garden’s trails serve as a labyrinth for thought and contemplation.
Before moving to Seattle, I had only visited the city once. A 48-hour whirlwind to find an apartment was bookended with a sunrise view of the Olympic Mountains.
