Spring Favorites 2020
This edition of my seasonal favorites comes to you from quarantine. Worldwide “Stay At Home” orders have kept us physically and socially distance but we have all found slivers of resilience through this stressful time.
Springtime looks good on Seattle. The famous cherry blossoms, with their pink and white flowers have bloomed, their petals drifting on the light breeze. The days have been sunny and warm, allowing us to enjoy a few meals from our outdoor dining area on our patio.
This season’s favorite things celebrate the earth coming to life and being able to slow down and enjoy simple pleasures at home.
Building Roots in the Time of Quarantine
I would be amiss to not share some thoughts around the COVID-19 global pandemic. I, like many, many others are watching this pandemic grow quickly, causing waves of reactions around the globe and locally. Seattle is considered “ground zero” for the virus in the United States, with reported cases reaching over 700 this week. This is a particularly strange time for everyone globally, adding a particular nuance to my life in and my relocation to the Emerald City.
Easter Brunch 2016
Easter, or as my friend Greg calls it "Thanksgiving of the Spring". We have beed traveling quite a bit this winter visiting my family in Michigan, so this Easter I opted to host rather than travel for the long weekend. Easter is often the kick off for Rosé season, so I planned this year's brunch around wine pairings.
